December is a slower pace here in Panama City Beach. Don’t let that stop you from visiting, PCB is fast becoming a year round destination. There are several events happening and the weather is milder than most of the rest of the country. A long winter walk on the beach can be very therapeutic!
Why not try Christmas at the beach for a nice change of pace? Downtown Panama City and St Andrews as well as Pier Park are all decked out with lights and decorations. Santa is at the Mall and Pier Park, many restaurants are still open ( a few are even open on Christmas Day).
Harpoon Harry’s and Margaritaville are for sure open on Christmas Day, I will post more as I find them.

The weather is so perfect right now! Blue Sky, sunshine, warm temps in the day and cool at night. If you only visit Panama City Beach in the Summer you are really missing out! I know I have said this before, but it is so true! The water is so clear, the beach is empty, the seafood is great and the restaurants are not crowded.

Below is a list of restaurants that are open on Thanksgiving and have special menus, most require a reservation and some “suggest” reservations. Phone numbers are also provided for you. Click on the name and it will take you to their website. Some of the restaurants do not have their Thanksgiving menus posted on the website yet. I called each of them to ask if they are going to be open. The below list are the ones that confirmed that they will be open and that they will have a Thanksgiving menu. There could be others as well and some chains such as Po Folks I believe are open.

Schooner’s is not open for Thanksgiving but they are having a “locals” Party on the beach Friday and Saturday night. Live music, bonfire, bar, s’mores and more all on the beach behind the restaurant.
In addition the the great restaurants that are open, the resort (Venture Out) has a pot luck lunch at the clubhouse at noon. There is a $5.00 per person charge and bring one dish to share. If you would like to attend this luncheon, please contact Jeannie Boyd in the front office so that she can have a count for planning. 850-234-2247
The Lagoon pool bath house renovation is still going. They had some logistical issues with the power that are now resolved. They’re working on the plumbing this afternoon and the “pool pit” (filter/heater, etc) is being put in this week. Once these things are complete the building should go up pretty fast. The goal is to have it complete before Thanksgiving.
The playground, basketball court, pavilion and picnic area are all still available for use. The resort added new benches on the pier and it is ready for fishing or just relaxing and watching the boats and birds.
Panama City Beach Fall Events 2017
Every year Panama City Beach is host to a variety of Autumn events. They range from the family friendly Pirates of the High Seas Festival to the Bloody Mary and Music Festival. The weather is still warm during the day and mild in the evenings. Autumn is also the best time for less crowded restaurants. It’s a great time to get your Christmas shopping done too. Most of the shops have big sales on their summer clothes making it a great time to stock up for next year!
This year Venture Out Vacations is offering 10% off the nightly rate in select properties booked for one of the following festivals. Just show us your “proof” of attendance and we will take 10% off the nightly rate (cleaning fees and resort registration is not discounted).
