Spring Break

Posted by in News | March 18, 2013

Spring Break is n full swing in Panama City Beach. The college kids are all down at the other end of Thomas Drive,  Venture Out doesn’t rent to anyone under the age of 25, so we don’t get the loud crowds, we have great families here with their children, safe and sound from all the noise and traffic. There are great restaurants close by, as well as shopping and of course the Worlds Most Beautiful Beaches!

Don’t let the news scare you away from being here. Yes there are a lot of college kids in town, but they are not everywhere and they are not here. They stay close to Spinnaker/LeVela and down there. Here we are still the same as we always are, safe, quiet and not crowded. The State Park is next door that has kayak and canoe rentals, shuttle for Shell Island, great walking trails, beautiful beach, fishing on the Jetties and the Pier. Venture Out has 2 beautiful pools, gorgeous beach with chair rentals available,  shuffle board, basketball, beach volley ball, mini golf, 2 tennis courts a great playground. What more do you need?

There are wonderful restaurants close by. We have Montego Bay, Runaway Bay, Scampy’s, Schooners, Captain Anderson’s, BoatYard, Pier 77, Billy’s and more all within 5 minutes of us. For breakfast or Lunch there is Andy’s Flour Power ( great pastries and French Toast!) Fatty Patty’s, (great daily lunch specials, wonderful cakes and pies),  FINN’s (the best Fish Taco’s in the world!!) and  the Egg and I.

For shopping we have 2 grocery stores close, Publix and Winn Dixie. For souvenirs, beach attire and supplies  there is an Alvin’s Island and 2 Sunsations. For neat decor and antiques there is Pieces, there is a Tuesday Morning close by too.

So again, don’t let the news keep you away from PCB, we are here in the quiet and missing you!

Brief History of Venture Out

Posted by in News | March 6, 2013

The story of Venture Out goes back to 1968 when Gulf Oil had the brilliant idea of developing a Travel Trailer Resort Park. As a matter of  fact, they developed five parks with 3 being in Florida, one in Mesa, Arizona and one in Tennessee.

The Grand opening of Venture Out at Panama City Beach, Inc. took place July 3, 1970 boasting it had around 100 acres of land with 300 feet on the Gulf of Mexico and 1000 feet on beautiful Grand Lagoon. The park offered RV lots complete with palm trees, a 10’x16′ patio and a concrete picnic table set. All lots had hook ups for travel trailers with prices starting at $4,495.00

In 1977 the last phase was developed and it only took a year to sell all of the available lots.  At this time Gulf Oil turned over the management of the park and the balance of the property to the condominium Association consisting of 735 lot owners. Each lot owner owns 1/735 of all the common areas for the entire park and pays a common maintenance fee each month to keep them up. He also owns his building lot in a fee simple and assumes the maintenance thereof. The Association will  maintain the grass upon request.

Many positive things have happened over the past 30 years. We have evolved from a travel trailer park to a residential community, with a large number of custom built homes in the 150-300 thousand dollar range. There are over 200 families living in the park year round. Property values have increased beyond our expectations. Those who have owned here over these many years have seen the growth accomplished with blood, sweat and tears, but to them it is worth it all.

Venture Out at Panama City Beach, Inc. offers its owners and guest a great variety of amenities. We have 300 feet of white sandy beaches, two pools with one heated and one located on the Gulf of Mexico, mini golf, two  tennis courts, gated community with 24 hour security, shuffleboard courts, basketball court, play yard for the children, large pavilion for outdoor gatherings, large clubhouse for the owners to have organized activities, 1000 feet along the lagoon with with a dock for fishing, dock for boaters with boat ramp and a fully staffed office to run the affairs of the Association seven days a week.

Venture Out offers luxury vacation living, well maintained lots for the RV travelers, and a perfect spot for retirement. Venture Out’s staff is here to assist you in making your stay as enjoyable a possible.
